Graphic Design Assistant
8 hrs per week – Based in Gharb, Gozo
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Graphic Design Assistant will report to the Artistic Director Norbert Francis Attard and assist in creation of graphic content for publications, books and promotional material.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Publications & Promotional Material
· Design publications for Valletta Contemporary and Norbert Francis Attard, including VC’s annual publication, and other art-related publications using InDesign.
· Adapt to pre-existing style requirements and guidelines.
· Design of promotional material for publications.
· Editing of photography for publications using Photoshop.
· Occasionally assist with the creation of graphic promotional material for Valletta Contemporary’s exhibition programme.
Requirements
- Driven, ambitious, helpful and motivated personality.
- Interest and flair for design, publications and graphic design.
- Understanding of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and the Adobe Creative Suite is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, good team player.
- Excellent in organizational ability and prioritization of task handling.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma (ex. Graphic Design, Communications or Photography). or related job experience in related areas would be equally considered.
- Open-minded, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and punctuality is most essential.
- Strong and clear written & oral communication in primarily in English and preferably Maltese.
Other spoken languages will be a plus.
- Sensibility for design, especially minimal book design is a must.
- Friendly, confident and engaging personality.
- Good word processing and desktop computer skills, email and internet.
Working Hours
Working strictly from the studio of Norbert Francis Attard. Remote working not allowed.
Two mornings or two afternoons or one morning and one afternoon.
Mornings: 9.00am untill 1.00pm
Afternoons: 3.00pm until 7.00pm
