As a defining term ‘outsider’ art is a site of conceptual conflict. It is a definition whose operative logic is to be a non-definition in order to accommodate alternative and eclectic ways of art-making. Within GROUNDWATERS this definition is challenged and the exhibition reflects the slippery nature of the term. Gabriel, Kurt and Nikki will discuss the problematic issues raised by the project, both in terms of research as well as execution.

This will also be an opportunity to meet some of the artists in the show.
